Introduction of Printed Circuit Boards

PCB boards is abridged as Printed Circuit Boards, which is an important electronic components, a supporting body of electronic components, and it is the provider of electrical connection of electronic components. As it is made by electronic printing, so it is called "printed" circuit boards.

The inventor of the Printed circuit board is the Austrian called Paul Eisler, he used the printed circuit boards in a radio device in 1936. In 1943, Americans used a large number of such technology in military radios inside. In 1948, the United States formally recognized this invention can be used for commercial. The printed circuit board technology had begun to be widely used since the mid-20th century.The connection of the electronic components was relied on the interconnection between the wires directly before the discovery of the printed circuit board . Now, the circuit panel is only as an effective experimental tools; printed circuit board has occupied the absolute position in the electronics industry.

PCB Classification

According to circuit layers: divided into single-sided pcb, double-side pcb and multilayer pcb. Common multilayer boards are four or six layers boards, complex multilayer boards can be reached a dozen layers.

According to rigidity: divided into rigid circuit boards and flexible circuit boards.

PCB's raw materials: copper clad laminates is the substrate material of printed circuit board. It is used to support a variety of components, and can achieve electrical connection between them or electrical insulation.

Our domestic pcb development was began in 1956, and gradually form the PCB industry in 1963-1978. After more than 20 years reforming, due to the introduction of foreign advanced technology and equipment, the single-sided, double-side and multilayer boards are given the rapid development of the domestic PCB industry which gradually developed from small to big. In 2002, China's PCB production value is more than Taiwan, to become the third largest PCB-producing countries. In 2003, PCB production and volume of import and export are more than six billion U.S. dollars, becoming the world's second largest PCB-producing countries. In recent years, China's PCB industry has maintained rapid growth of around 20% and is expected to exceed Japan around 2010 as the world's largest PCB production and the most active countries of technologic development.
