BB value of PCB decreased by 1.07 in North America in July

The Printed Circuit Board Association of United States(IPC) released press release on 26th, which pointed out that the BB(book-to-bill ratio) value of PCB decreased by 1.07 in North America in July. Although lower than the previous month's three years of a new high of 1.11, it still be greater than 1 for three consecutive months . 1.07 means that the product will be received new orders worth 107 U.S. dollars if to ship one hundred U.S. dollars per month .

IPC data shew that in July the North American printed circuit board manufacturer had received the world's orders for the 3-month moving average rate fell 23.1% from a year earlier, and 24.5% decrease compared with June; in 2009 has reduced annual rate of 27.4%. In July the shippment amounts of North American printed circuit board manufacturer was fell 25.3% compared with last year, and decreased 12.3% compared withi n June, in 2009 has reduced annual rate of 27.1%.

IPC president Denny McGuirk said in a press release, rigid printed circuit board (rigid PCB) sales occurred rapid development in June but in July again to resume the downward trend, while the FPC(flexible PCB) sales will still continue to decline. However, he said, rigid printed circuit boards, printed circuit board with the overall annual growth rate, though still negative, but to keep monthly an improving trend.

According to IPC statistics, BB value of FPC decreased from 1.02 to 0.94 in North America in July. Among them, in July the global orders of 3-month moving average greatly reduced the amount of 32.9% from a year earlier, and 41.6% decline compared with June; in 2009 has reduced annual rate of 9%. In addition, in July the shippment amounts of 3-month moving average was fell 14.9% compared with last year, and 17.8% decrease compared with June; in 2009 has an annual increase of 1%.

BB value of rigid printed circuit boards decreased from 1.12 to 1.09 in North America in July.
